(1) The products we sell

We sell overseas academic books, proceedings, and collected papers in the fields of science, engineering and life sciences. We deal in both secondhand books and new publications. In addition to books, we sell CD-ROMs, online books, and online journals. Books and CD-ROMs can be purchased on the “Neutrino Web Shop”. If you cannot find what you are looking for under the search function, please inquire by using the “inquiries” form on this site. We can make searches for, make an estimate for, and take orders on online books, online journals, secondhand books, and past issues of journals and other items.

(2) Delivery time and methods of delivery
-Delivery time

Most of the books we receive orders for have to be ordered from overseas publishers. For books that have already been published, the delivery time takes 3 to 5 weeks. For books that have yet to be published, the delivery time is usually 2 to 3 weeks after the date of publishing. Delivery may be delayed due to a number of reasons such as books being temporarily out of stock, a delay in the arrival of stock or a delay in publishing. In such cases, we will send an email to you to inform you of the delay.

-Delivery methods-

The items will be delivered to the address that you specified at the time of order. The items will be sent by the postal “Yu-mail” service, the postal ”Yu-pack” (ordinary parcels) service or by courier service. There are also cases where our sales staff may directly deliver the items to you.

*If you wish to use the cash on delivery (COD) service, shipping will be made through Yamato Transport Co.’s “Takkyubin Collect Daikin Hikikae (COD)” service. We will send an email to notify you when the items have been shipped.

(3) Membership registration

Customers can make free registration for membership at the Neutrino WebShop. Once you have become a member, there will no longer be the need to submit your personal information every time you use this site. You can also register multiple addresses that you wish your purchases to be delivered to, and you will be able to confirm the list of past purchases.

Of course, there is no need to become a member in order to make a purchase. (There are no differences in payment methods between members and non-members.)

(4) Passwords

Customers are requested to carefully protect and retain their passwords. If you cannot log in because you have forgotten your password, and an error message appears, please go to the page for customers who have forgotten their passwords. This page is indicated on the log-in page. After typing in the necessary information on this page, a temporary password will be issued, enabling you to reregister your password.

(5) International shipping

We regret that we do not ship internationally. We only ship to destinations in Japan.

(6) Confirmation mail for purchases order

After you have made an order, an automatic response mail confirming your book purchase will be sent to the email address you have registered with us. There may be times however, when this email may not reach customers because of virus protection software installed in computers or other reasons such as an error in the email address.

(7) Shipping fees and payment methods
- Shipping fees

Shipping to any destination within Japan is free.

- Payment methods

At the time of order, customers are asked to choose how they will pay. There are following three methods of payment:

1). Payment after delivery by a public entity, school, or company.
2). Payment by cash on delivery (COD). Customers are asked to pay the COD fee of 250 yen.
3). Payment by credit card

- Payment after delivery by a public entity, school, or company.

Customers can make specifications such as the papers they will use and where the purchases will be addressed to.
If you wish to use pay slips designated by a university, or to prepare papers using specified forms, please let us know about this in writing.
Since the payment will be made by a public entity, school, or company, we will ship the items to the organization you work for.
There may be times when we will contact your organization concerning procedural matters.

- For customers paying by credit card

For credit card settlements, we use the credit payment services provided by Zeus Corp. The credit card information that you submit will be managed by Zeus Corp. Please be assured that Zeus takes the strictest measures to protect your information.

- Divided shipment and paying by cash on delivery (COD).

If you place an order for multiple books, the books may be shipped to you separately depending on when they come in stock. When shipment of your purchases is divided in this way, we ask you to pay the COD fee only once on arrival of the first delivery.

(8) Prices

The selling prices of the books are the stated prices at the time an order is placed.
Stated prices may change according to factors such as revisions in the publishers’ original prices and fluctuations in foreign exchange rates.
The stated price comprises the publisher’s original overseas price, the handling fees which range from 0 to 14% of this price (this is not always the case with some publishers), and the 5% consumption tax. The calculation is based on the TTS rate provided by the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ.
The handling fees reflect the air transportation fees, road transportation fees, the handling fees for overseas wholesalers, and handling fees for our company.

The stated prices are the selling prices of items sold on online. They are different from the contract rates and coefficient rates for corporate bodies, and from the selling prices where discounts have been made.

(9) When a product cannot be placed in the shopping cart

When a customer uses a computer whose cookie has been made invalid, it is not possible to place products into the shopping cart. Please make the cookie valid, or send your orders to us by through the “inquiries” form.

(10) Cancellation

Because of the nature of our products, we cannot accept cancellations of orders. However, we will accept cancellation if a book is yet to be published or being temporary out of stock.

Returns/Exchanges

We only accept returns/exchanges on the following conditions. If a wrong item has been delivered, or if the books have disorderly binding or missing pages, or the item is soiled and damaged, we will accept returns/exchanges. Please let us know by email, telephone or fax within 7 days after delivery.

The items on our web site are imported new directly from foreign publishers/societies. Minor damages may occur in transit which we cannot accept returns/exchanges.

(11) Issuing receipts

If you wish to have a receipt issued, please let us know through the “other messages” field on the checkout page or by using the “inquiries” form.

(12) Neutrino Book News

Neutrino Book News is an email service for registered members. We send information by email on new publications and noteworthy books in the customers’ categories of interest. Customers who wish to withdraw membership or stop receiving our emails can do so through the “My Page” (membership registration page).
